RN Emergency Department PRN Nights

About the role
At Saint Alphonsus Health System, we are looking for a PRN Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department in Baker City, Oregon. This position is located at our Medical Center off the La Grande-Baker Hwy, just below the Elkhorn Mountains.
As an RN, you will provide hands-on patient care while collaborating with colleagues, maintaining accurate documentation, and utilizing resources wisely. You will serve as a patient advocate by promoting their physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Responsibilities include educating patients, administering prescribed medications and treatments, and developing care plans based on patient needs.
RNs in the ED will manage a six-bed unit primarily serving patients with trauma and stroke. Our ideal candidate is adaptive to change, invested in self-driven learning, and a team player.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on patient care in the Emergency Department
- Collaborate with colleagues and maintain accurate documentation
- Serve as a patient advocate for physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being
- Educate patients and administer prescribed medications and treatments
- Develop and implement care plans based on patient needs
- Manage a six-bed unit serving trauma and stroke patients
Requirements
- Licensed in the State of Oregon as a Registered Nurse (required)
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network (required at hire unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS)
- ACLS/PALS certification within 6 months of hire
- 1 year of RN acute care experience (high acuity, critical care patient population experience required)
