RN - EP Lab Tech, CVT

About the Role

Transform Healthcare is seeking a skilled CVT RN for the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab at the Level 1 Trauma Center in Roanoke, Virginia. The position supports state‑of‑the‑art cardiac procedures, including ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and advanced electrophysiology studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct assistance to physicians and patients to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Prepare patients and advanced equipment for invasive EP procedures.
• Scrub and assist the physician during procedures.
• Advise and plan with physicians on procedural strategies and supplies.
• Assist in emergent conditions and ensure team needs are met during procedures.
• Serve as patient advocate, advising on medication needs.
• Obtain and set up procedural supplies and equipment.
• Operate x‑ray equipment and administer medication under physician supervision.
• Apply advanced critical‑thinking skills to manage emergency situations.
• Monitor and interpret EKG and hemodynamics throughout procedures.
• Enter patient history, labs, and case data; document for databases, moderate sedation, pain management, and medication administration.
• Perform advanced data manipulation for shunt calculations, cardiac outputs, and electrophysiology study analysis.
• Participate in patient transport, sheath removal, closure site care, and other specific patient‑care functions.
• Assist with informed consent and patient education.
• Contribute to Carilion Clinic’s scorecard, performance‑improvement activities, and overall mission.
• Actively support service‑line outcome goals.

Requirements

• Valid RN license in the state of Virginia.
• Current AHA BLS‑HCP certification.
• Must obtain and maintain AHA ACLS certification within six months of hire.
• Successful completion of orientation, competency validation, and a cardiac monitoring course.
• Critical care experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Eligibility for the Referral Bonus Program.

Pay

Compensation range: $36.87 – $55.31 per hour, based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior experience. This range does not include benefits or pension plan.

Schedule

Full‑time, day shift. No weekend, holiday, or on‑call requirements.
