Job Summary

A registered nurse in the endoscopy setting provides continuous care, safety, and education for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Responsibilities include overseeing patient needs, analyzing data, ensuring compliance, documenting accurately, and collaborating with the healthcare team.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee accurate and ongoing physical, psychological, social, safety, educational, and discharge needs of each patient.
• Analyze assessment data and identify specific patient needs/problems for inclusion in the plan of care.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agency mandates and document timely and accurate patient information.
• Provide direct patient care, responding to needs promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines to deliver safe, timely, and appropriate quality care.
• Assure continuity of care throughout the pre-, intra-, and post-procedural phases of the patient's experience.
• Collaborate with other healthcare teams to ensure safe, timely, and appropriate quality patient care.
• Handle confidential patient information appropriately and utilize patient assessment skills before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist with financial management by monitoring supply usage and waste.
• Perform as testing personnel under CLIA 1988 regulations as required.
• Assist with the financial management of the designated area(s).
• Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• Minimum: Med Surg, Critical Care Experience
• Preferred: Endoscopy Experience, Moderate Sedation Administration Experience
• Experience Requirements: Minimum: Associate Degree as a Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree as a Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing
• Licenses & Certifications Required: Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana by date of hire or transfer to the position
• Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association)

Education Preferred

• Associates or better in Nursing or related field
• Bachelor's or better in Nursing or related field

Licenses & Certifications Required

• Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana
• American Heart Association ACLS
• American Heart Association BLS- Basic Life Support
