Job Description Summary

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. Operates 24/7/365.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Assessment/Diagnosis - Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and/or individual (30%)
  • Outcomes Identification/Planning - Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs (30%)
  • Implementation/Evaluation - Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; as part of a multidisciplinary team, revises plan of care based on evaluative data (20%)
  • Leadership - Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance (10%)
  • Operations (10%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
  • BSN required at 5 years of employment

Program Specific Responsibilities

  • 30% Care of the critically ill or injured patient during all phases of transport, required standard work and related processes of an EMS Critical Care Transport Program.
  • In charge RN crewmember for patient transport level of MICU & ALS
  • In charge shift RN responsible for the operational support of standard work related to the MICU vehicle, equipment, drugs and supplies, maintenance, state licensure & practice adherence, radios, sending & receiving care site communications; OhioHealth protective services/EMS transport dispatching interface; documentation including EMS patient chart, EMS billing, and documentation, CQI etc., bedside patient report & final disposition.
  • MEDICAL PROTOCOL ADHERENCE
  • Participates in CQI program with medical director.
  • Consistent participation and successful completion of all staff education, medical & skill competency training & testing, preceptor for staff orientation.
