RN Emergency Medicine - OLG Ortho Emergency Department - Full Time- Nights

About the Role

This job is considered a leader in the provision of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. You will effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes. The role involves exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions and maintaining involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and department strategic goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.
• Education: Registered nurse diploma required; Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

• Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and group needs.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly; serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilize data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
• Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and improvement in the nursing profession.

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force.
