Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. You will secure patient travel, address patient needs in healthcare, help patients, and prevent issues while following the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegating tasks based on condition and team competencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
• Create, implement, and evaluate care plans, adjusting to reach desired outcomes.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families, managing discomfort and maintaining professionalism.
• Develop care plans reflecting patient values to aid in resolving issues.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the community to create care plans, delegate tasks carefully, and follow up promptly.
• Use problem-solving strategies with patients, families, and staff, recognizing limitations and prioritizing safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care.
• Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peers' development while showing community service commitment.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
• Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area, as well as hospital procedures and rules.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
• Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and critical thinking.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license.
• BLS certification (must obtain within 30 days of starting the role).
