PeaceHealth is seeking a RN - Emergency Department for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Evening position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $44.27 – $71.09. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. About the Role

Ketchikan, Alaska is the beginning of the last frontier. Set at the southernmost entrance to Alaska's famed Inside Passage—a network of waterways that snake through some of the most jaw-droppingly beautiful wilderness in the world—Ketchikan is best known for abundant salmon, idyllic scenery, rich hunting grounds, and an incredibly rich Alaska Native culture. Ketchikan Medical Center is not your ordinary Critical Access Hospital. We provide comprehensive services to take care of every patient that comes through our doors.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care needs.
  • Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • Experience: Must demonstrate independent management of cardiac, critical care, complex care med/surg, psychiatric, and multiple trauma patients of all age groups. The ability to work in an intermittently fast paced, high volume, high-risk environment is required. IV Skills for all ages required. Computer charting required. Telemetry experience. Minimum of 1 year as a primary clinical provider in the ER setting is preferred. RN's with prior clinical practice, New Grad RN's with prior experience in other emergency type situations, paramedic, EMS etc will also be taken into consideration. ABG experience preferred.
