About the Location
Corewell Lenox EC is a small free-standing Emergency Department and part of Corewell Grosse Pointe Hospital. The Lenox EC is a full-service emergency department with 24/7 lab and imaging services, including CT and Ultrasound, equipped to handle all types of emergencies. The facility includes 8 rooms (2 trauma bays), 2 triage bays, and 5-6 hallway spots. The department is staffed 24/7 with board-certified Emergency Physicians, emergency-trained mid-level providers, nurses, and technicians.
Staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, the Corewell Emergency Center in Lenox offers high-quality, comprehensive emergency care comparable to other Corewell Health Beaumont locations. This center is conveniently located in your neighborhood and not physically connected to a hospital. Close integration with Beaumont’s hospitals ensures efficient transitions to inpatient care if needed.
About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) operates under the ANA scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process framework to provide professional nursing care with a focus on patient-family centered care. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients while recognizing the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on outcomes.
The RN delivers quality care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures. Key duties involve partnering with patients and families to incorporate their input and goals into care plans, developing teaching strategies, and documenting education and learning in the health record.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor’s in Nursing (Required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than one year of experience)
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have passed the NCLEX licensure examination
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire/transfer from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
- TNCC certification within 1 year of hire/transfer
- ENPC certification within 15 months of hire/transfer
- Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
- External candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of related acute care experience and successfully complete a competency assessment
- Internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must be approved by their current Nurse Manager and the site CNO; they will remain unit-based PRN (casual) employees until reaching 2 years of experience
