About the role
The Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic is dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with heart, vascular, and thoracic diseases. This role is within the Cardiac Device Clinic, which serves both ambulatory and inpatient populations.
Responsibilities
- Interrogate, interpret, and program a variety of implantable cardiac devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices, S-ICDs, and implantable loop recorders.
- Assess device function, monitor patient status, and promptly communicate urgent or abnormal findings to providers.
- Collaborate with electrophysiologists and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Work closely with patients and families to establish care plans, coordinate ongoing care, and facilitate discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families about their conditions and treatment options.
- Cover other nursing roles in the department as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (must obtain with six months of employment).
- One year of recent experience as an RN.
Preferred qualifications
- Two years of recent cardiac RN experience.
Physical Requirements
- Full range of motion.
- Manual and finger dexterity.
- Eye-hand coordination.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay
- Pay Range Minimum hourly: $35.50
- Pay Range Maximum hourly: $55.60
