RN Educator

About the Role

This position functions as a unit educator, master teacher, and preceptor in a Pediatric ICU setting. The role involves facilitating evidence-based research, incorporating nursing processes into patient care plans, and performing as a clinical instructor for nursing students. The nurse will provide safe, specialized patient care across various age groups, assist with staffing, and ensure adherence to policies and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership and develop clinical skills through mentorship models
• Develop patient care plans based on evidence and standards
• Serve as a clinical resource and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Educate staff on new equipment and procedures via training sessions
• Assist patients and caregivers with health education and problem-solving
• Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration and care coordination
• Monitor educational strategies to maintain quality standards
• Promote patient safety by following policies, reporting concerns, and fostering patient participation
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN)
• 18+ months of related clinical experience
• Current RN license and CPR/BLS certification
• Instructor certifications in required nursing protocols within 90 days
• Ability to perform heavy physical work and work in environments with potential hazards
