About the role

This is a full-time Emergency Room RN position in Wilmington, DE, with a 0.9 FTE schedule (4 PM – 4 AM) and every third weekend required. One summer and one winter holiday per year. During busy seasons, mandatory on-call shifts (eight hours) are required once every six weeks.

The pediatric Emergency Department (ED) is a 44-bed unit fully equipped to handle emergencies for patients from birth to age 18.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and provide care to assigned patients.
• Utilize critical thinking to formulate and implement a nursing plan based on patient’s complex needs.
• Assist patient and family in discharge planning to anticipate and meet care needs.
• Serve as an advocate for patient and family while collaborating with the healthcare team.
• Provide safe and appropriate nursing care through adherence to Nursing Department standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• 2–3 years of previous nursing experience.
• Emergency Department (ED) experience; pediatric ED and pediatric experience preferred.
• Eligible for Delaware State license (or compact license).
• Bilingual preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required upon hire.
