RN - ECT, Part Time (24 hrs)

Overview

RN ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy), part-time (24 hours per week, no weekends, 6-8 hours a day, flexible schedule). Piedmont Eastside, Snellville, GA. Previous ECT or PACU experience is highly preferred.

Our 62-bed Behavioral Health Unit seeks compassionate mental health clinicians to care for patients with psychiatric illnesses. Our recovery-oriented program provides opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative care environment. The unit includes an Adult Psych Unit (ages 18–64), a Geriatric Psych Unit (ages 65 and older, total care), an Intensive Outpatient Program, and ECT. We also offer a New Graduate Program for RNs passionate about Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments including collection of data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial, and health history.
• Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments, and patient/family education.
• Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs.
• Identifies expected patient outcomes.
• Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
• Provides patient care that is specific to the setting, identified needs, and plan; ensures care is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment, or disability.
• Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.
• Identifies teaching opportunities and provides resources necessary for achieving educational goals of patients.
• Communicates issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
• Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.
• Collects pertinent data and information relative to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation.
• Analyzes the assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
• Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
• Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
• Implements the identified plan of care.
• Coordinates care delivery.
• Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
• Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
• Practices ethically.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Work Experience: No experience required; new graduates of a nursing program eligible. Nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred. One year in a hospital setting for PRN positions preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. Required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support. Required.
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.

Required Certifications by Specialty (Addendum)

• Cardiac Tele: ACLS Certification (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete within 6 months of start date). Within 180 Days Required.
• Critical Care: ACLS Certification (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete within 6 months of start date). Within 180 Days Required.
• Dialysis: CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) preferred.
• Emergency Department: ACLS and PALS Certification (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete within 6 months of start date). Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 6 months to obtain PALS certification. Within 180 Days Required.
• Infusion/Oncology: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration. Upon Hire Required.
• Pediatrics: Identifies, reports, and provides appropriate protective measures for high risk situations including, but not limited to, abuse or neglect, failure to thrive, and potential for abduction. Additional Required Certifications: PALS Certification required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete within 6 months of start date); PEARS or PALS Certification required at Piedmont Athens Hospital (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete within 6 months of start date). Within 180 Days Required.
• Surgical Services: Additional Required Certifications: PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete within 6 months of start date). OR BLS required only. Within 180 Days Required.
• Women's Services: Additional Required Certifications: Labor and Delivery - ACLS Certification (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete within 6 months of start date), NRP by the end of orientation period, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date. Mother/Baby - NRP by the end of orientation period. NICU - NRP by the end of orientation period. NAT (Newborn Admission Team) - NRP by the end of orientation period. Nursery - NRP by the end of orientation period. Within 180 Days Required.
