RN Director-Women's and Children's

About the role

The Nursing Director, Women and Children’s Service (WCS) oversees operational, financial, programmatic, continuous improvement, and personnel activities for inpatient Women and Children’s care at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. This role is a critical leadership position within the WCS division.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality, safety, accountability, and engagement through NDNQI quality metrics and AWHONN standards.
• Coordinate patient flow and care coordination to optimize day-to-day operations.
• Direct budgeting, financial management, and human resource management for inpatient nursing, nursing assistants, unit secretaries, staffing coordinators, float pool, House Managers, and payroll specialists.
• Establish, meet, and continuously monitor goals and objectives for areas of responsibility while aligning with system strategic goals.
• Work closely with various stakeholders to support improvement efforts towards performance excellence.
• Act as the programmatic and operational leader for inpatient care and collaborate with other leaders.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role of patient care unit or related department.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or equivalent formal nursing education required for Michigan licensure (Mid-wife, CRNA, CNS, or Nurse Practitioner).
• Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, Health Management, or related field preferred or enrolled in a master’s program within one year of hire.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for coaching and facilitating team members.
• Expertise in inpatient and outpatient care or OBED.
• Professional certification.
• Experience in shared governance or Magnet model.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in the State of Michigan.
