Job Summary

We are seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and support our nursing staff in providing exceptional care to our residents in our long-term care facility.

About the Role

Your impact as Director of Nursing includes ensuring compliance with all nursing services, leading the team through recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management, supporting direct care by assisting on the floor, reviewing payroll, maintaining accurate resident records, developing individualized care plans, ensuring staff have necessary resources, and coaching and mentoring nursing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Compliance: Oversee all nursing services in accordance with company, state, and federal guidelines
  • Lead the Team: Manage recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance of nursing staff
  • Support Direct Care: Step in to assist on the floor when needed to maintain consistent, high-quality care
  • Review Payroll: Approve payroll submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain Records: Monitor resident records for accuracy and appropriate documentation
  • Develop Care Plans: Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to create individualized care plans
  • Provide Resources: Ensure nursing staff have timely access to equipment and necessary supplies
  • Coach and Mentor: Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to improve performance and outcomes

Requirements

  • Holds a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the State of Texas
  • Proven leadership experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing
  • Strong clinical skills and a restorative care approach
  • Knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance standards
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
  • Current RN license in Texas
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing management experience
  • Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred
