Responsibilities

• Admission and ongoing assessments of patients using physical and psychosocial assessment skills, diagnostic data, and medical evaluations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided against short and long-term patient goals.
• Develop a care plan for patients, anticipating their individual needs.
• Implement nursing actions and medical orders to address complex patient needs, considering age-specific psychosocial and educational requirements.
• Document care provided and patient responses in the patient’s record.
• Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities, ensuring accountability for care provided by LPNs and non-licensed technical personnel.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities such as acting as a role model, managing consumer relations, enhancing communication skills, problem-solving, decision-making, and assisting in the orientation and training of personnel.

Requirements

• Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
• Current Michigan RN license.
• At least 12 months of nursing care experience, including 3 months of experience caring for maintenance Hemodialysis patients prior to assuming charge responsibilities.
