Responsibilities
- Perform the duties of licensed registered nurse for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
- Maintain health records, disseminate important proactive health information to staff and families.
- Train staff in OSHA, first aid, and medication support.
- Lead the team in the health and safety.
- Undergo evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention in accordance with AHRC and ADS policies, OPWDD regulations, and professional standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required.
- Understand the Scope of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and required supervision needed for LPN and non-licensed staff such as AMAP.
- Supervise staff providing care, including AMAP's and LPN's.
Qualifications
- New York State License as a Registered Nurse required.
- Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities a plus.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- CPR certified (AHRC can provide training if needed).
