RN Coordinator - Emergency Department Throughput

About the role

The RN Coordinator for ED Flow/Throughput ensures efficient patient movement through the Emergency Department by coordinating staffing, patient placement, triage, EMS handoffs, and inpatient transfers. They provide clinical guidance, support safety initiatives, and collaborate with care teams to remove barriers, especially during urgent situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow and transfers
• Align staffing with patient needs and acuity
• Monitor care delays and develop solutions
• Support safety and quality initiatives
• Partner with physicians and nurses to optimize care
• Provide clinical support and escalation when needed

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Cardiac Life Support, PALS, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (obtained within specified timelines)
