RN Clinical Supervisor, 12A Telemetry _ Allegheny General Hospital

About the role

The Allegheny General 12A Telemetry Unit is a 24-bed unit with all single occupancy rooms. It provides high acuity post-surgical care to cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and transplant patients, as well as support and treatment to patients with Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs). The unit holds the Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification (C4).

Responsibilities

• Directs and provides professional nursing care to patients through the nursing process.
• Oversees, monitors, and collects data related to the facility and department's quality and satisfaction measures.
• Serves as the clinical expert and role model for staff.
• Mentors and evaluates staff performance, addressing issues as necessary.
• Demonstrates effective leadership skills through communication and interpersonal interactions.
• Enhances professional relationships and achieves desired outcomes.
• Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age-appropriate population.
• Affirms appropriate staffing levels and staffing mix to optimize routine operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or relevant experience.
• Required: Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate, Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, CPR – American Heart Association, Current State of PA RN licensure, or Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Prioritization: 3 years’ experience in clinical specialty, previous supervisory experience, and certification in area of specialty preferred.
