About the role

The Allegheny General 12A Telemetry Unit is a 24-bed unit with all single occupancy rooms, providing high acuity post-surgical care to cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and transplant patients, as well as support and treatment to patients with Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs). The unit holds the Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification (C4).

Responsibilities

• Provides care based on the nursing process.
• Demonstrates clinical assessment and care planning skills.
• Directs and manages patient care activities of the team members.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patients and families and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.

Requirements

• Minimum Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR certification.
