Job Summary
The Clinical Staff Leader is a registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Health System. This role involves delivering patient care, supervising other staff, addressing patient needs, coordinating care with other healthcare professionals, and participating in patient safety initiatives. The nurse is also responsible for managing nursing responsibilities during shifts, including delegating assignments, preparing schedules, and ensuring patient flow.
Education
- Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- PREFERRED: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Experience
- Required: Minimum of 2 Years' Clinical Experience Required
- Evidence of leadership abilities required
Position Requirement(s)
- Licenses/Certifications/Registrations Required: Current licensure privileges to practice nursing in the state of employment. BLS completed prior to going to department/unit and maintained going forward. NRP and STABLE within 6 months of hire and maintained going forward. De-escalation training/certification within 1 year of hire.
Department Position Summary
- Quality/Safety: Maintains continuous updates to Visual Management Board, ensures bedside reporting occurs daily, executes and ensures adherence to appropriate bundles for CLABSI, CAUTI, etc., implements regulatory compliance, and escalates issues.
- Service Excellence: Deescalates situations and implements service recovery, tracks unit-specific metrics, and communicates concerns to leadership.
- People: Assists in recruitment and retention, facilitates communication, and coaches staff to enhance performance.
- Finance: Manages productivity by flexing staffing based on census and acuity, analyzes staffing adequacy, monitors supply costs, adheres to PAR levels, and updates schedules.
- Growth: Communicates effectively with healthcare providers and service lines, develops staff members, and conducts performance reviews.
- Community: Assists with community outreach programs and opportunities.

- Daily operations of unit when scheduled to include but not limited to:
