RN Clinical Nurse II- Inpatient Flex Team

About the role

The UNC Hospitals Flex Team is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide competent clinical nursing care in various areas including Women’s Health, Pediatrics, ICU, Stepdown, Acute Care, ED, and Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Energetic, flexible, patient-driven, and an effective communicator
• Knowledgeable about nursing and adaptable to change
• Maintains a safe patient/family centered environment
• Matches work assignments with experience and precepts individually based on skill set and experience level
• Works across the main hospital and has the opportunity to work in Hillsborough Hospital
• Prefers applicants with 18 months of recent hospital experience

Requirements

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
• One (1) year of nursing experience

Qualifications

• Enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date
• Knowledgeable about activities which facilitate intra/interdepartmental collaboration
• Participates in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities
• Effectively uses communication systems
• Promotes a safe, clean and secure hospital environment for all

Skills

• Reads journals that contain studies or articles applicable to practice
• Begins to use full range of communication as a means to convey planning
• Identifies and addresses cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care
