About the role
Located at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York 14642, this position is part of the University of Rochester’s commitment to Meliora – Ever Better. Under the direction of leadership, the nurse is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards, contributes to unit activities, supports enhancement of the care delivery system, and assists peers in delivering patient care services. The role may expand to include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities. Join a dynamic critical care team and practice across five distinct Adult Intensive Care environments: Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Burn/Trauma ICU, Neuromedicine ICU, and Burn/Trauma Progressive Care. A unique orientation process builds a diversified, high‑level skill base, and additional opportunities exist for clinical ladder advancement, charge, and precepting.
Responsibilities
- Provide competent direct patient care according to established standards.

Pay
Compensation range: $40.03 – $54.04 per hour (minimum and maximum). Individual hourly rates are set within this range based on market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations.
Schedule
Full‑time and part‑time positions available. Rotating shifts with day/evening/night weekends and holidays as required; 12‑hour shifts.
