About the Role

The Clinical Lead position performs a wide variety of nursing and supervisory functions, serving as a leadership role in the office overseeing both clinical and office staff at Blanchard Valley Medical Practices, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System. The health system provides care to over 100,000 households in an eight-county area with a mission to provide “Caring for a lifetime.”

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily assignments of staff to ensure patient and provider needs are met.
  • Direct support staff in daily care, maintenance, and monitoring of supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Provide ongoing supervision to office staff and patients/customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all requirements of governmental agencies and regulating bodies.
  • Serve on appointed committees and complete all required reports accurately and timely.
  • Promote a service-oriented philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, staff, medical professionals, and the public.
  • Encourage communication and professional service, addressing associate problems, complaints, and suggestions responsively.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring all controls are followed.
  • Perform related duties to assist others and ensure smooth operation of the department.
  • Present service excellence indicators and educate staff on service-oriented practices to meet hospital/department goals.
  • Work with the office coordinator to manage relationships between secretarial and nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work at other BVMP Practices as needed.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
  • Experience with throat cultures, hemocues, hemoccults, glucometer, urinalysis, and urine pregnancy testing.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Understanding of principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Ability to assess and interpret patient data to meet age-specific needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with medical office practices.
  • Typing and medical terminology experience.
  • EMR (Electronic Medical Records) experience.

Physical Demands

This position requires a full range of body motion, including intermittent walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting, and standing. The associate will walk for up to one hour a day, stand for five hours, and sit for two hours. Must be able to lift twenty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. Requires good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity to operate machines. Excellent verbal communication skills are necessary for interacting with patients, providers, and co-workers. Corrected vision and normal hearing range are required. This position is classified as “at risk” for possible occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens (HBV, HIV, etc.).
