About the Role

PeaceHealth is seeking an RN Clinic - Gastroenterology for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening is $46.27 – $69.41. The hiring rate depends on factors such as education, training, work experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs, including triaging patient phone calls, counseling, providing education, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs.
• Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
• Promote positive interpersonal relationships and a patient/family-centered work environment.
• Screen and prioritize patient inquiries regarding medical care, prescription refills, insurance authorizations, and referrals.
• Respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Education: Accredited School of Nursing (Required)
• Experience: 1 year as a registered nurse (Preferred)
• Credentials:
  • Registered Nurse in state of practice (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (Required)

Skills

• Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and a patient/family-centered work environment.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications.
• Effective prioritization skills.
• Ability to provide health education to patients, staff, and the community.
• Knowledge of Medicare, JCAHO, DNV, and HCFA regulations pertaining to ambulatory care.
• Demonstrated knowledge of age-specific principles of growth, development, and life stages.

Working Conditions

• Lifting: Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without assistive equipment; non-patient lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
• Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force.
• Physical activities: Frequent sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling; occasional hands-on CPR using 100-125 lbs. of force.
• Environmental exposure: Biohazards, body fluids, airborne particles, and noisy environments.
• Mental/Visual: Normal vision and hearing (corrective aids permitted); ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
