RN - Children's Hospital - Pediatric Acute Care Inpatient - Full Time, nights

Erlanger Medical Center is seeking a registered professional nurse for direct and/or indirect patient care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to patients from birth to adulthood with a variety of illnesses, including trauma, respiratory, gastroenterology, renal, cardiac, and long-term care of the chronically ill child.
• Assess patients and consistently re-evaluate, prioritize, and recognize emergent situations, acting promptly and appropriately based on patient needs.
• Select, develop, implement, and evaluate plan of care.
• Administer pharmacological drugs as ordered, perform procedures, and operate equipment necessary for patient care as assigned.
• Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and assess data reflective of the patient's status to interpret appropriate information for age-specific needs.
• Contribute to nursing and the Medical Center through support of philosophy and objectives and education efforts.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
• BLS certification completed prior to unit/department assignment and maintained thereafter.
• For non-Tennessee residents, Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire.
• Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills, organizational functions, policies, regulations, and current trends in nursing.
