About the role

The Registered Nurse directs, coordinates, and controls nursing activities, assists in evaluations, and provides care for patients using the Nursing Process. Assignments are tailored to the age and developmental levels of patients.

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups
• Required Education: Associate's Degree, Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.
• Conditions in offer letter and job description signed upon hire or transfer apply to those hired or transferred between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017.
• Current employees hired or transferred before August 1, 2013, are grandfathered.
• Effective July 1, 2018, all current employees are required to have AWHONN FHM Intermediate or Advanced by July 1, 2019.
• New hires and transfers are required to have AWHONN FHM Intermediate or Advanced within one (1) year of hire or transfer if no previous training.

Skills

• Adheres to hospital and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care.
• Familiar with patient care equipment.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida.
• BLS from the American Heart Association is required for all areas.
• ACLS required at hire for Code Blue Team (626003).
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer for 3 ICU-North TA (620480).
• PALS required within 6 months of hire or transfer for Code Blue team (626003), 2 L&D/Womens Srvcs-North TA (650380), 3N Obstetrics (650300), and Labor and Delivery (653100).
• NRP required within 6 months of hire or transfer for Code Blue team (626003), 2 L&D/Womens Srvcs-North TA (650380), 3N Obstetrics (650300), and Labor and Delivery (653100).
• STABLE-sugar, temp, airway, BP, lab work, emotional support requirement.
