RN – Observation Unit

About the role

South Pointe Hospital's Observation Unit seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct nursing care, implement, monitor, and evaluate patient care plans, and educate patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Assist fellow caregivers with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge.
• Interact directly with patients, families and visitors, enhancing their experience and supplying healthcare education as needed.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross.
• One-year of current acute care RN experience. Military RN experience will be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Excellent assessment skills.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Physical ability to handle and lift patient, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in environments with exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
