Role Overview: The RN Clinical Charge Nurse leads daily unit operations to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. They serve as a caregiver, often taking modified patient assignments, and practice within a framework supported by evidence-based models and core competencies. Key Responsibilities Oversee resource management, including equipment and staffing planning to address patient needs and surges.Make patient assignments considering staff experience and patient acuity.Conduct rounds with physicians, review patient discharges, and manage bed flow in collaboration with leadership.Ensure adherence to clinical standards through daily patient evaluations, utilizing peer coaching and corrective actions when necessary.Partner with patients and families to deliver relationship-based, patient-centered care, maintaining effective communication and care coordination.Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, documentation, and performance improvement activities.Support professional development, ensure compliance, and promote a respectful, inclusive work environment. Qualifications & Skills Active nursing license compliant with state regulations and ANA standards.Advanced clinical expertise with a focus on safety, quality, and evidence-based practice.Strong leadership, communication, delegation, and teamwork skills.Ability to coordinate resources, manage unit operations, and foster staff development.Proactive in quality improvement initiatives and fostering collaboration across disciplines.
