Join our 12-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Troy Hospital, where we maintain a 2:1 Nurse-to-Patient ratio, with occasional 1:1 care based on patient condition. Our unit specializes in treating complex cardiac and critical conditions, including Targeted Temperature Management for post-cardiac arrest patients, STEMI, Cardiogenic shock, 3rd heart block, Acute Myocardial Infarctions, Acute Kidney Injury, Pulmonary Edema, NSTEMI, DKA, and ARDS.

About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) operates under the ANA scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process to provide professional, patient-family centered care. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients while partnering with patients and families to incorporate their input and goals into care plans. The RN develops teaching strategies, documents education in health records, and collaborates with the Nurse Leader to deliver quality care in alignment with Corewell Health policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients using the nursing process.
- Provide patient-family centered care, incorporating patient and family input into care plans.
- Develop and document teaching strategies for patient and family education.
- Deliver quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures.
- Recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Associate’s in Nursing (Required).
- Bachelor’s in Nursing (Required within 5 years of hire).
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required).
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required).
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required within 6 months of hire).
- Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years.

- Shift: Night (7:00 P.M. – 7:30 A.M.).
- Weekly Hours: 36.
- Days Worked: Variable.
- Weekend Frequency: Every third weekend.
