RN - Cardiology

Overview

Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out responsibilities and integrates Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life, and dignity of each person into work ethic.
  • Communicates with patients, families, visitors, and employees in a caring, friendly, personal, and professional manner.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure: Current valid state license.
  • Certifications: CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
  • Knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education, principles to develop a self-care program, instruments, and common safety practices.
  • Ability to assist and perform a variety of medical treatments and procedures.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and policies.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public.
  • Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or the ability to learn these skills, in order to access information and enter clinical data.
