RN Cardiac Stepdown FT Nights **10,000 sign on Bonus for Experienced Nurses**

Registered professional nurse position on the Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSDU) at Erlanger Health System, providing direct and indirect care for patients undergoing invasive cardiac or pulmonary procedures/surgery, and those experiencing acute myocardial infarction and/or cardiac rhythm disturbances.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive direct and/or indirect care for patients undergoing cardiac and/or pulmonary procedures/surgery.
• Assess and monitor patients pre- and post-procedure.
• Administer medications and assist with bedside procedures under the direction of EHS physicians.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development over the life span.
• Interpret patient data to identify age-specific needs and provide care as described in the unit’s policies and procedures manual.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee (or multistate licensure from a compact state within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents).
• BLS certification completed prior to starting in the unit/department and maintained thereafter.
• ACLS and NIHSS certification to be completed within the first 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Annual training as required by area of practice (e.g., Annual Review Day, Elsevier’s, EOLs).
• Knowledge of general nursing principles, organizational functions, policies, regulations, and current trends in nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification by specialty (e.g., CVRN/ANCC) within 1 year of exam eligibility for area of practice.
