About the Unit
The Brain Injury unit offers services not widely available, including coma recovery with medical care and stimulation that encourages patients to regain consciousness. Sunnyview is one of a few programs in the region that can care for minimally conscious patients. The approach includes engaging patients in self-care activities (e.g., guiding their hand for daily skin cleaning) and providing appropriate levels of light and sound stimulation tailored to their needs. Patients regain movement and walking ability with assistive technologies including the ReWalk™, Ekso™ Exoskeleton, and Litegait® system.
