About the role
The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care, including continual evaluation of the patient's condition. Responsibilities may include assisting physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile techniques. The role involves total patient care for those emerging from general anesthesia or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in preparation for discharge.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
- Evaluate patient conditions continuously, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile techniques.
- Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Prepare patients and families for discharge.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
- Active RN license in the state.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS if required by the center.
- 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills to meet patient and unit needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pay
$45.00 - $65.00/hour. Wages are determined based on qualifications and experience.
