RN-Ambulatory-OR

Responsibilities

• Document patient care accurately, thoroughly, and promptly within the facility's electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures and assist with room turnover between cases.
• Absorb patient positioning and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the perioperative process.
• Maintain proper handling, labeling, and documentation of surgical specimens.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Identify and implement corrective actions when necessary to support patient safety and operational efficiency.
• Adhere to all infection control, regulatory, and facility policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of one year of Operating Room nursing experience required.
• Experience in an acute care hospital or ambulatory surgery setting preferred.
• Experience with Centricity EMR preferred.
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, and/or Pediatrics.
• Ambulatory surgery center experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative surgical team.
