RN Ambulatory – Infusion Float

The Cancer Center focuses on the concerns and needs of patients and families navigating a cancer diagnosis. This experienced team of Oncology and Hematology specialists collaborates to provide advanced services, treating the patient, not just the disease.

As an RN, you will assist in delivering exceptional care from initial introduction to discharge, interacting directly with patients and offering emotional support during vulnerable times. The Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance skills.

Schedule

This position works Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. No weekends. You must be able to float to other Cleveland Clinic satellite locations, including Bath and Green.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop, evaluate, adapt, and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
• One year of recent experience as an RN.
• Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant, and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if the applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Infusion experience.

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
• May require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
• Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be negligible, a job is rated Light Work when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; or working at a production rate pace entailing constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay

The pay range for new hires is $33.50 – $53.40 per hour. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices such as shift differentials or overtime, nor does it include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package, such as healthcare, dental, vision, and retirement savings account contributions.
