RN Ambulatory - Headache

About the role
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. You will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, enhancing their experience and providing healthcare information. Schedule
This position works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm or 7:00am to 8:00pm.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
- Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
- Administer medication and treatments.
- Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
- Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
- Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
- Develop, evaluate, adapt, and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
- Cover other nursing roles within the department.
- Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within six months of hire.
- One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant, and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- May require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work if it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or working at a production rate pace entailing constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay
The pay range for new hires is $33.50 to $53.40 per hour. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include applicable pay practices such as shift differentials or overtime, nor does it include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions).
