QUALIFICATIONS
- Terminology, theory, techniques and practices of professional nursing including normal conditions of the specialty to which assigned;
- Concepts of medical, surgical asepsis and disease process;
- Knowledge of and practice of safe body mechanics;
- Knowledge of and ability to use specialized equipment for assigned unit.
Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Willingness to cross train to Stress Lab and Diagnostic Imaging. Current Oregon RN license.
PREFERRED
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN);
- One-year experience working with physicians and radiologists performing invasive procedures.
- Medium to high physical and mental demand capabilities required;
- Frequent stooping, bending, and reaching;
- Constant walking, standing, lifting at least 50 pounds or more, pushing/pulling regulated hospital equipment;
- Occasional sitting;
- Functioning under periods of stress, trauma, and/or disease.
- Demonstrates and applies an in-depth knowledge of nursing principles, practices, standards, and techniques;
- Applies nursing knowledge in accordance with corporate and procedures and adheres to policies and procedures of the department and of the hospital;
- P Practices professional nursing within the Oregon State Board’s Scope of Practice at all times and maintains awareness of the RN’s professional responsibility to safeguard the patient at all times;
- Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively using pertinent data with physicians, patients, families and peers;
- Effectively and accurately and timely communicates problems and participates in their resolution;
- Actively listens to and resolves immediate problems;
- Understands the workflow of the Diagnostic Imaging Department;
- Regularly reviews for in progress to ensure care is proceeding as scheduled;
- Involves patients and families in education and preparation for discharge;
- Consistently demonstrates a timely and dependable attitude in all aspects of work assignments; meets deadlines for assigned projects;
- Effectively utilizes time management;
- Actively involved with orientation and training of newly hired staff as assigned;
- Demonstrates an ability to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crises and emergent situations;
- Expected to sign up for weekend call on a rotated basis. Call hours are 0700-1900 Saturday and Sunday.
