About the Role

Join Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital, a proud Magnet Hospital awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the highest honor for professional nursing practice. As an RN on the 2B Adult Psychiatry Unit within the Acute Adult Behavioral Health Center, you will provide around-the-clock care for adult and older adult patients with acute behavioral, emotional, and/or psychiatric disorders. This role involves delivering exceptional care, interacting directly with patients and their families, and providing education and support throughout the patient journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • If in a Critical Care area, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within the first year of hire.
  • External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience.
  • Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval.
  • Military RN experience considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

Pay range for new hires: $43.00 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include applicable pay practices such as shift differentials or overtime, nor does it reflect the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.

Schedule

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days, evenings, nights, and weekends between 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
