RN, Admissions - Full Time - Falls Church, VA
About the role
The Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing hospice care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring that patients and families receive the best possible care.
Responsibilities
- Completes clinical admissions for all Company services, explaining services and addressing patient/family concerns.
- Identifies admission objections and provides responses, educating patients/families on admission requirements and immediate needs.
- Completes informed consents and initial assessments, initiating the Plan of Care and obtaining physician orders.
- Documents according to Company policy, communicating with physicians and after-hours staff as needed.
- Facilitates referrals to all service lines, coordinating with referring hospitals, physicians, facilities, and the general public.
- Communicates with Care Navigation staff for timely follow-up, developing strong relationships with case managers and physicians.
- Provides care for GIP patients in hospitals, managing daily visits, professional management, documentation, and efficient discharge.
- Assists during emergencies, reporting to work at designated locations if required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current license as RN in the state where working.
- One (1) year nursing experience, preferably in hospice or hospital settings.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, especially in emergency departments or ICUs.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to manage emotional stress and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical capabilities to perform essential functions, including lifting and moving patients and equipment.
Skills
- Strong goal/outcome orientation and excellent time management skills.
- Exceptional customer service focus.
- Active BLS for healthcare professionals certification.

Pay
$66,064.10 - $108,893.76 annual salary range.
Schedule
10am-7pm, rotating weekends, every 3rd weekend, in Loudoun, Fairfax, Fauquier, Prince William, Arlington areas.
