Job Summary
The 8100 Family Practice Unit at Akron General is a high acuity, fast-paced, Neuro/Cardiac Telemetry unit with patients requiring extensive ADL assistance. The RN will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey, interacting directly with patients and their families.
What You’ll Bring
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one year of hire
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct nursing care
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population
- Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
- Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate
- Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit

Pay & Schedule
- Full Time schedule with nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., every other weekend, and 3 holidays per year
