Responsibilities
- Performs clerical duties as required for patient profiles, medication inventory control and tracking prescription refill data.
- Makes sure clients’ drug prescriptions are monitored, using prescription drug monitoring programs if available.
- Identifies medication resources, assists with financial aid applications, pre-authorizations, patient assistance programs, and supports potential solutions.
- Notifies prescribers about medication risks, treatment gaps, and collaborates with the behavioral health team to develop patient-centered interventions.
- Administers medications within the scope ordered by prescribers.
- Provides medication education to clients.
- Supports UDS to enhance treatment efficacy and reduce prescription diversion.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completed an approved certification course for becoming a medical assistant and holds certification as a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Missouri.
- Prior work experience within the medical field as CNA, L1MA, or RMA and with populations experiencing behavioral health conditions in either a clinic or inpatient environments is preferred.
