About the role
Riverside's Nurse Aide Program is designed to help new hires transition from Hospitality Assistants to fully licensed Certified Nurse Aides. Participants start as Hospitality Assistants in a labor pool until their scheduled course begins.
Responsibilities
- Work as a Hospitality Assistant in a labor pool (as needed)
- Attend an accelerated 4-week course to learn skills and knowledge needed to pass the CNA boards
- Participate in full-time day shift hours during the course and clinical hours
- Assist residents with eating and drinking as needed
- Prepare dining room for meals
- Assist with clothing protection, reminding or assisting residents to their seats, passing meal trays, and assisting with feeding as qualified
- Document meal consumption
- Answer call lights and respond to wander guard alarms
- Clean utility rooms, storage areas, and resident rooms/closets/drawers
- Empty soiled linen
- Conduct leisure activities with residents
- Perform tasks under the supervision of an RN or LPN
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
- Standard First Aid required within 30 days of hire for Assisted Living/Memory Support units only
- Successful completion of a minimum of 8 hours of a state-approved training course provided by Riverside
- Must be age 18 or above

- Reimbursement for costs associated with registration for the NNAAP exam to achieve CNA designation
- Full-time CNA positions require a 12-month work commitment
- Part-time CNA positions require an 18-month work commitment upon graduation
- Positions in home health or acute care do not qualify for the Earn and Learn program
Pay
Hiring range is $15.60 - $20.25 hourly, actual pay determined by job-related factors including relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Schedule
Full-time CNA positions require a 12-month work commitment and part-time requires an 18-month work commitment upon graduation. Status and shift are determined by facility need. Positions in home health or acute care do not qualify for the Earn and Learn program.
