Riverside's Lifelong Health Earn and Learn Nurse Aide Program (Hospitality Assistant to CNA)- Williamsburg

About the role

Riverside's Nurse Aide Program is designed to help new hires transition from Hospitality Assistants to fully licensed Certified Nurse Aides. Participants start as Hospitality Assistants in a labor pool until their scheduled course begins.

Responsibilities

• Work in conjunction with certified nursing assistants to assist residents needing minimal assistance.
• Prepare dining room for meals.
• Assist with clothing protection, reminding or assisting residents to their seats, passing meal trays, and preparing food and drinks for eating.
• Aid in bathing and other hygienic tasks.
• Document meal consumption.
• Answer call lights and respond to wander guard alarms.
• Clean utility rooms, storage areas, and resident rooms/closets/drawers.
• Empty soiled linen.
• Conduct leisure activities with residents.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
• Standard First Aid required within 30 days of hire for Assisted Living/Memory Support units only.
• Successful completion of a minimum of 8 hours of a state-approved training course provided by Riverside.
• Must be age 18 or above.

Schedule

Full-time CNA positions require a 12-month work commitment and part-time requires an 18-month work commitment upon graduation. Status is determined by facility need.
