Risk Mitigation Specialist - Team Lead
About the role
The Risk Mitigation Unit Lead at Xcelerate Solutions oversees the negotiation, implementation, and monitoring of legal agreements that allow companies with foreign investment to hold facility clearances. This role is crucial in the Entity Vetting lifecycle, bridging analysis and action.
Responsibilities
Strategy Development: Oversee the drafting of Risk Management Strategies (RMS) and FOCI Action Plans for 4,000 cases annually.
Negotiation Support: Support the Government in negotiating mitigation agreements with corporate counsel and executives.
Compliance Oversight: Manage the schedule of annual compliance reviews, site visits, and self-attestation audits to ensure mitigated companies are following the rules.
National Interest Determinations (NID): Supervise the preparation of NID packages for companies requiring access to proscribed information.
Requirements
Experience: 8+ years in risk management, corporate compliance, legal analysis, or industrial security auditing.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business, Risk Management, or related field.
Skills: Deep knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and FOCI mitigation instruments (SSA, Proxy, Board Resolutions).
Qualifications
Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (Tier 5 Investigation)
