Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm with offices in all 50 states, seeks a detail-oriented Risk Management-Client Matter Lifecycle Clerk. This full-time role offers flexible options to work remotely, hybrid, or onsite.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the point of contact on billing setup for Partners and legal assistants.
- Input and maintain client billing information, including matter budgets, timekeeper rates, and special instructions in the accounting database.
- Review and verify accuracy of billing setup to ensure accurate and prompt invoicing according to each client’s specific needs.
- Ensure client’s initial matter billing setup aligns with their Billing and Outside Counsel Guidelines.
- Review and verify accuracy of billing documentation as required.
- Confirm rates and any fee arrangements are reflected for each individual matter.
- Communicate with attorneys, billing team, Client Service Specialist, and other staff to support the successful flow of billing information within the New Business Intake workflow.
- Drive standardization and innovation alongside future growth.
- Ensure firm policies and practices are followed; promote consistency and education on professional and technical matters to meet client and firm billing objectives.
- Assist with other special projects, ad hoc reports, and activities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; or an A.A. or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- At least one year of related experience in a large law firm; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in general accounting practices.
- Minimum of one year’s experience with legal and/or electronic billing processes and practices.
- Prior experience with Aderant or Elite billing systems.
- Experience with Intapp OPEN Intake or Fulcrum GT’s UPFRONT preferred.
- Strong Excel skills with ability to analyze financial data.
- Analytical, intellectually curious, and motivated to seek out answers and solutions.
- Familiarity and comfort dealing with legal documents and contracts.
- Ability to multitask, working both independently and as part of a team, in a deadline-driven, detail-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Pay
Yearly salary range: $35,000 – $50,000. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant skills, training, experience, and location.
