Risk Analyst, Middle Office
We are seeking a Risk Analyst, Middle Office to join our team in Houston. This role involves supporting commercial and hedging teams by managing market risk exposures, calculating financial impacts, and ensuring compliance. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify risks, manage trades, and improve internal processes.
- Support commercial and hedging teams in decision-making by monitoring market risk exposures and calculating financial impacts.
- Ensure adherence to internal practices and controls.
- Collaborate with other middle office teams globally to enhance internal processes and reporting automation.
Responsibilities
- Bring 1-2 years of experience from the commodity sector, preferably in risk management or operations.
- Report risk exposures and P&L numbers related to refining hedging and trading activities.
- Support feedstock and product trading risk reporting activities.
- Ensure trade entry capture and internal processes are correctly followed by front offices.
- Work closely with other middle office teams to simplify and automate internal processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Math/Physics, or a related field.
- Previous experience from the commodity sector, such as middle office or operations.
- Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to learn about the commodity sector.
- Basic understanding of renewable energy markets, including RIN and LCFS, and financial derivatives.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of renewable energy markets, including RIN and LCFS, and financial derivatives.
- Other strengths include solid IT skills, especially with PBI and MS environment, and previous experience from Allegro or SAP.
