About the role
As a result of continued growth within Cherry Bekaert’s Risk Advisory team, an opportunity has been created for a Senior Manager (Insurance) to lead complex client engagements for Life & Health, Property & Casualty, and Reinsurance organizations across risk management, internal audit, governance, compliance, internal controls, SOX, and operational improvement. This role will provide hybrid/remote work flexibility dependent on proximity to a local office within the firm’s footprint.
Responsibilities
- Lead insurance-focused client engagements across risk, compliance, internal audit, governance, internal controls, and advisory services, with accountability for quality, scope, budget, staffing, and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary engagement leader for Life & Health, Property & Casualty, and/or Reinsurance client relationships, building strong connections with executives and business leaders.
- Provide practical guidance on insurance industry risks, regulatory developments, governance, risk management, operational effectiveness, and internal control design and operation.
- Lead cross-functional project teams across multiple concurrent engagements, helping teams deliver timely, high-quality work aligned to client expectations.
- Review findings, recommendations, and deliverables to support clear, actionable insights for clients and firm leadership.
- Identify client needs and service opportunities, contribute to proposals, and support growth of the Risk Advisory practice.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant professional credential, i.e., CPA, CIA, or CRMA.
- 7+ years of experience providing risk advisory, internal audit, consulting, or related client engagements within public accounting, insurance, or advisory services.
- Strong knowledge of Life & Health, Property & Casualty, and/or Reinsurance operations, products, regulatory requirements, and industry risks.
- Experience leading internal audit, risk management, SOX, governance, compliance, internal controls, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage complex engagements, competing priorities, client relationships, project teams, budgets, and deliverables.
- Executive-level communication skills with the ability to present findings, recommendations, and solutions to senior stakeholders, boards, and C-suite audiences.

Pay
Salary range: $119,000 - $190,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined by factors including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.
