About the role

MEI Industrial Solutions is a leading provider of rigging, machinery moving, millwrighting, mechanical installation, industrial storage, crating, and export packing services. The Rigger Apprenticeship Trainee Program is designed for individuals without prior knowledge of the machinery moving industry or rigging skills, offering a pathway to a fulfilling career as a skilled Rigger with potential for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Moving heavy, expensive, and often sensitive equipment in various industrial settings.
• Ensuring safety, professionalism, and expertise in all rigging tasks.
• Completing hands-on training, activities, and assessments in lab or field environments.
• Gaining proficiency in rigging skills necessary for various machinery moving/rigging positions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Commitment to learning and willingness to complete all program assignments and assessments.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness and ability to travel for training sessions.

Qualifications

Must be physically capable of performing general physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working outdoors year-round. Must also be able to work in a highly functional team environment, display high levels of honesty, integrity, and professionalism, communicate openly, and take pride in work and company.
