About the role
The Role: RIG Electrical Journeyman
Responsibilities
- Install electrical receptacles, junction boxes, and associated hardware.
- Install and secure conduit up to 4 inches.
- Pull and install wire according to electrical drawings and specifications.
- Safely terminate breakers in accordance with ICR and installation documentation.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and installation sheets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Identify and report safety hazards or concerns.
- Maintain required tools and equipment inventory.
- Train team members on electrical procedures aligned with Switch standards.
- Perform work on live electrical equipment in compliance with NFPA 70E and internal safety standards when authorized.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license in the state of employment.
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship program or 8,000 hours of electrical experience.
- Working knowledge of AC, DC, and grounding systems.
- Understanding of construction field safety requirements.
- Ability to climb ladders and lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely around live electrical systems.
Preferred
- Experience working in data center or mission-critical environments.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E requirements and hot work procedures.
Qualifications
- You work safely and follow established electrical and site safety protocols.
- You read and interpret drawings and instructions accurately.
- You work independently and stay on task without supervision.
- You communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.
- You maintain a high standard of workmanship in mission-critical environments.
- You are comfortable working at heights and in active construction areas.
Skills
