RFP: Perinatal Mental Health Services

About the role

Global Communities is seeking licensed and licensed-eligible mental health providers to partner with our Healthy Start program in San Diego and Riverside Counties. We welcome responses from solo clinicians and small community practices as well as larger organizations. Providers with the ability to offer services in Haitian Creole, Spanish, Dari, and/or Pashto are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver culturally responsive clinical mental health services that support emotional wellbeing, strengthen families, and reduce the impact of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs).
• Support pregnant and postpartum families, addressing depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment, and other perinatal mental health concerns.
• Offer individual, couples, and family mental health counseling to parents during pregnancy and up to one year postpartum.
• Provide telehealth and/or in-person services, with a typical wait time for a new client of less than three business days.
• Respond to referrals within three business days and assist clients with scheduling.
• Document and bill services in a HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Participate in team and Consortium meetings, facilitation of staff training, or other Healthy Start activities as applicable.
• Provide up to 15 therapy sessions per eligible adult participant funded by Global Communities.
• Maintain a HIPAA-compliant referral and communication process.
• Submit a monthly invoice by the fifth day of the following month showing the participant name, date of service, and whether the visit was in person or virtual.
• Participate in quarterly partner meetings, relevant staff training, and/or Healthy Start Consortium activities.

Requirements

• Current licenses and credentials, including those for licensed-eligible practitioners.
• Experience supporting pregnant and postpartum families.
• PMAD-related training, certifications, memberships, or specialized expertise.
• Experience working with linguistically diverse families, especially those from Black/African American families, refugee and immigrant communities, and other historically underserved populations.
• Ability to offer services in Haitian Creole, Spanish, Dari, Pashto, or other languages spoken by Healthy Start families.

Qualifications

• Name and role of each clinician expected to provide services.
• Current licenses, credentials, and relevant supervision arrangements.
• Resume or CV for lead clinicians or clinical directors.
• Additional clinician resumes may be requested during the review process.

Pay

The pay structure will be determined based on the selected provider's qualifications and experience, and will be outlined in the final contract.

Schedule

The schedule will be flexible and will depend on the needs of the clients and the provider's availability. However, providers are expected to respond to referrals within three business days and provide services as agreed upon in the contract.
